The SeaWolves, in conjunction with the Erie Times-News and GoErie.com, announce today a contest to help name the team's new inflatable mascot.
The nine-foot tall, inflatable fish character will be unveiled on Opening Day and will accompany the SeaWolves long-time mascot C. Wolf during on-field skits, community appearances and other team events.
"We're excited to introduce a new character to our game day entertainment crew," said SeaWolves President Greg Coleman. "Fans love C. Wolf and the Smith's Racing Wieners, and now they'll have one more reason to cheer. We love it when the fans have fun and take home great memories."
Fans can visit GoErie.com beginning Thursday, February 23 to submit names. Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, March 7. The lucky fan who wins the contest will receive a prize pack including a SeaWolves autographed baseball and four tickets to Opening Night. If there are multiple submissions featuring the name selected, one winner will be chosen at random from among those entries.
Opening Night 2012 is Thursday, April 12 when the SeaWolves host the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles). The first 1,000 fans entering the gates at Jerry Uht Park will receive a magnetic SeaWolves schedule compliments of Delta Sonic.
